WCB- Getting By

February 17, 2007 by Kate

February…..month o’ sheer boredom.

I have been in a food rut lately, feeling little to no imaginative urge to create something divine. We have been doing pretty good with our meals, but nothing really blog-worthy. Plenty of repeats, some quickie suppers, a meal out here and there. But the new issues of Food and Wine and Eating Well magazines have just landed with a delicious thud on my doorstep, boasting of meals to tantalize, recharge and rejuvenate those winter cooking doldrums. The cover of Eating Well is a vivid spring-like green, with a wonderful close up of asparagus spears. Very tempting. So I am looking forward to having some jazzing eye-candy pumped into my veins to stimulate me to cook up a storm.

It’s Weekend Cat Blogging again. The sleepy cats over at KitchenMage are doing their best to host, but it seems everyone wants to snooze through this one.

The weather is warmer and Bustopher has gotten outside a few times to sniff the bushes and explore the neighbors houses so he’s not quite so antsy. We still perform The In and Out dance many times each morning, as us silly humans comply to his every whim. This coming week we should see temps rebound into the 30’s, and that should be utter bliss. I am thinking there will be plenty of muddy paws and wet tummies in the days ahead.

For now, the only adorable thing captured on photo this past week was Harmon.

Following the sunshine as usual, we found him curled up with all the catnip toys, using the stuffed socks as a multiple pillow resting spot. He looked so comfy.

Bustopher, on the other hand, stole the blanket I used in the mornings to ward off the chill. I suppose if I leave it draped over a chair, it just becomes fair game. Of course, when I come and try to reclaim it, I get ‘the look’. “I dare ya to try and move me, come on, I dare ya. Double dare ya. And get that camera outta my face. I know I am a rockstar, but spare a guy a little peace, wouldja?”

Nest weekend, WCB will come back to Kate in the Kitchen to hang out and enjoy some cat fun. Until then, everyone!

Meow, what a lovely fluffy orange kitty sleeping. It seems that Kitchenmage aka Kittenmage is the ad hoc host for WCB! Yay Kittenmage! It seems that the winter weather has brought out the sleepiness in all the kitties this week,

The first picture is awesome! I love such kinds of kitty attitudes. Bustopher doesn’t really seem to sleep and seems to be very interested in something…

Awww, Harmon looks so peaceful at the spot of sunshine, definitely another candidate for a tummy rub.

Harmon looks very cozy and comfortable in that first photo. :) Bustopher also looks comfortable and he has a great expression on his face!

That is such a cute comment: “there will be plenty of muddy paws and wet tummies in the days ahead.”
It sure will be worth it to get some warmer weather.
