Katie, of Thyme For Cooking has offered up a great blogging event for our food skeletons to be made public. Now isn’t this going to be fun? We get to offer up all our dark secrets that we love to eat but hate to tell anyone. It’s hard to own up to having such guilty pleasures, like telling someone you love to listen to John Denver, or maybe that you were a huge fan of ‘Melrose Place’ or ‘Baywatch’ (ok….i watched the first, not the second).
But this is food!
I have no photos, no evidence of such; but one of my most favorite snacks to eat is a peanut butter and green olive sandwich. There is something about the briny olives (only from a jar, and the pimento removed) and the salty peanut butter that really make magic between two pieces of bread.
Another is Campbells Beef Barley soup. I could likely make a beefy, barley-esque soup that would knock my socks off, but somehow, this is a must in my pantry. There comes a time when nothing else will do. And what’s worse is that I usually eat the barley out of it and little of anything else.
I hardly ever buy sugary cereals at all and won’t let Griffin eat them, but if you put a box of Frosted Flakes, Apple Jacks or Corn Pops in front of me, I might make an attempt to eat the whole thing.
I. Love. Taco. Doritos. If there is a bag anywhere near me, I will eat them until I could burst. And for some reason, it isn’t because they are good. Doritos are not good but I still eat them. Ugh. What’s wrong with me??
Is this guilty?? Peanut butter toast, topped with a sliced banana then sprinkled with cinnamon. Hmmm….no, that’s delicious! And sort of healthy!
I will take a piece of cake, smash it to mush and then mix my ice cream into it until it’s like paste. Then I eat it. Gladly.
Fig Newtons. Oreos. Nutter Butter cookies. Fudge Stripes.
‘Nuf said. Go to Katie’s sight for more skeletons, guilty pleasures or just plain, all-out food obsessions. We all might be obsessed with good food and beautiful presentation, that’s certain; but somewhere in all of us lurks a little kid who once discovered some great foods that no one else would touch. Come on and share them!

So many things….the beef barley soup? It’s the first thing I buy when I get back to the U.S.
And I always make ‘ice cream soup’ – never thought of adding the cake.
The peanut butter and olive sandwich I’m willing to try – 2 perfect foods together? Why not. Pour on some gravy…
Thanks for purging, er, I mean, sharing!
Well the non-pantry things are (yes) watching both Melrose AND 90210 and Alf (please don’t hate me!). Also, thinking I was going to marry Joey McIntyre from New kids on the Block. Ok, now to the pantry. Well, I did anything into anything. Have a dip in front of me, I’ll dip whatever is in my hand into it. I love dipping tunafish sandwiches into ketchup. How about my love for anything fried and crunchy? Any type of English “crisp” or chip. I never ate chips until I married and Englishman and now that ends up being our before meal ’snack’. I’m sure the fat will really catch up to us sooner than later. I will also dip anything in cream cheese. OH, and I eat sour cream by the spoonfull. Have I grossed you out enough? -amy @ neverfull.wordpress.com

Mmmmmm…love your secrets!
Hahah! I love your disclosures–very entertaining! (Like your dorito fetish, I love Funyuns. Yep. If they’re around I’ll eat the WHOLE bag.)
