Writing and food are two of my most treasured passions. I love taking a simple meal, a recipe or an ingredient and telling a story about it, giving it a voice and a personality and life. In my everyday existence, I am a personal chef and a certified wine professional. I am a self-taught nutritionist as well, and hope to eventually become certified in that regard as well.
Cooking for me is a love I’ve had since I was a young girl, maturing into a desire to eat healthy, whole and healthy foods; foods that nature provides, not a package or box. I am a scratch cook right to the heart, and love experimenting with ethnic flavors, different spices and seasonings and all kinds of ingredients. Our well-being is so closely tied to the foods we nourish ourselves with, and variety is a constant in my kitchen.
I blog for the pure love of sharing what I create with others. It isn’t about commercialization, revenue or great stats. One doesn’t eat for commercial gain- they eat to feed themselves, and cook to feed and serve and love others, so why would someone post for anything other than that reason? I’m glad to share what I love with others, and knowing that it nurtures and feeds them, maybe touches their life, well that to me is the finest reward, more than money, notoriety or any kind of commercial gain.
I cook for myself, and for my husband who is my biggest fan and recipe tester. He is enthusiastically supportive of any experiment I undertake in the kitchen. We have a teenage son, usually referred to as My Little Carnivore, who would subsist on meat 24/7 if given a chance, but still, for a young man his age, he eats better than almost anyone we know, even if he doesn’t always agree with what is placed on the table. He has been given a firm foundation in flavor, taste and eating, and I know that someday it will benefit him.
So sit back and enjoy. Let me know what you think, and I hope that you enjoy yourself here, in my little corner of the world.

Holy smokes: you are very well qualified! I wish I had a culinary school and wine professional tucked into my kitchen apron! Nicely done!
I couldn’t have said it better myself—your second paragraph—about cultivating a curious palate, enjoying food and moderation, making things from scratch…
A toast!

Just found your blog! I’m super psyched! Not having ANY professional food experience I fumble my way through the kitchen daily and LOVE every minute of it. I’m with you in the creative outlet thing. There hardly is a day that goes by where I’m not whipping something op from the pantry.
Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and I love the blog. I may link to you if that’s ok.

I hear ya!
The best part of my day is when I enter my kitchen and whip out clean cutting boards, pots, and pans to use as my canvas. I love filling the house with the aroma of good food cooking away.
